The numerical value of Wendy Abraham's name =
26 + 26 = 52 = 5 + 2 = 7
It's interesting that both her first and last name add up to 26,
the letters of the alphabet. There are 26 bones in the human foot.
It is the atomic number of Iron (Fe) with 26 protons & 26 electrons.
Since the inner core of the earth is molten iron, 26 is a number that
represents inner treasures and strength of character (iron constitution)
according to Hexagram #26 of the I Ching.
The 26th Hexagram of the I Ching: Ta Ch'u / The Taming Power of the Great
THE JUDGMENT:
THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT.
Perseverance furthers.
Not eating at home brings good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water. |
 |
THE IMAGE:
Heaven within the mountain:
The image of THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT.
Thus the superior man acquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity.
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.
|
Heaven within the mountain points to hidden treasures. In the words
and deeds of the past there lies hidden a treasure that men may use to
strengthen and elevate their own characters. The way to study the past
is not to confine oneself to mere knowledge of history but, through
application of this knowledge, to give actuality to the past.
Hexagram #26 Ta Ch'u has a threefold meaning, expressing different aspects of the concept
"Holding firm." Heaven within the mountain gives the idea of holding firm in the
sense of holding together; the trigram Kên which holds the trigram ch'ien
still, gives the idea of holding firm in the sense of holding back; the third
idea is that of holding firm in the sense of caring for and nourishing. This
last is suggested by the fact that a strong line at the top, which is the ruler
of the hexagram, is honored and tended as a sage. The third of these meanings also
attaches specifically to this strong line at the top, which represents the sage.
The words "sense of caring and nourishing" seem to describe Wendy Abraham perfectly.
As Associate Director of Stanford's Asian Religions & Cultures Initiative (2001-2007),
she showed her organization skills in advancing the Buddhist, Tibetan, and Zoroasterian
programs on campus. Her presence at these events nourished the audience with catered
refreshments that added to the intellectual stimulation of the speakers.
26th Book of Enoch describes journey to the middle of the earth:
And I went from thence to the middle of the earth,
and I saw a blessed place in which there were trees with
branches abiding and blooming. And there I saw a holy mountain,
and underneath the mountain to the east there was a stream and
it flowed towards the south.
Book of Enoch XXVI.1-3 (circa 105 B.C.-64 B.C.)
translated by R. H. Charles, S.P.C.K., London, 1917, pp. 51-52
It's interesting that the 26th Book of Enoch mentions journey to the middle earth,
since China, Chung Kuo means "Middle Kingdom", Wendy's area of study.
And in numerology, Wendy's 26 is identical to CHINA: 3 + 8 + 9 + 5 + 1 = 26.
There are many magical connections to the number 26, but here is my favorite
that fits Wendy perfectly as a nourishing maiden from the Tree of Life.
Emblema 26 of Michael Maier's Atalanta Fugiens (1617):
Emblema XXVI:
The Tree of Life is the fruit of Human Wisdom.
Epigramma XXVI:
In human affairs there is no greater wisdom,
Than that from which arise wealth and health.
In her right hand she keeps a long life in good health.
but her left hand conceals overwhelming treasures.
When somebody approaches her with head and hand,
She will be for him of the same value as
the fruit of the Tree of Life.
Michael Maier (1566-1622),
Atalanta Fugiens, 26
(translated by H.M.E. de Jong,
Gardening: Maitreya Three, Shambala, Berkeley, 1972, p. 78)
Wendy Abraham's name 26 + 26 adds up to 52, the number of weeks in a year.
There are 52 cards in a deck of playing cards, and the 52nd word of the
King James Version of the Bible's Old Testament Genesis = God.
In Hebrew numerology, Gematria, AYMA (Aima), the Supernal Mother
(a title of Binah) adds up to 52 (AYMA = 1 + 10 + 40 + 1 = 52)
which reflects the nourishing maiden from the Tree of Life (above).
Hexagram #52 of the I Ching is Kên / Keeping Still, Mountain.
52nd Hexagram of the I Ching: Kên / Keeping Still (Mountain)
THE JUDGMENT:
KEEPING STILL. Keeping his back still
So that he no longer feels his body.
He goes into his courtyard
And does not see his people.
No blame. |
THE IMAGE:
Mountains standing close together:
The image of KEEPING STILL.
Thus the superior man
Does not permit his thoughts
To go beyond his situation.
|
Like the number 26, 52 is also a propitious number.
INFINITY: 9 + 5 + 6 + 9 + 5 + 9 + 2 + 7 = 52 is one example.
I've listed them in
Number 52 and
composed a haiku poem
Spring Time, White Snow, Blessed Key: Meditations on 52
While reading the 52nd Hexagram of the I Ching Kên / Keeping Still,
it occurred to me that it's connected to the
52nd word of Genesis = God.
When pilgrims asked the Hindu sage
Ramana Maharshi for advice
in finding God, he would cite Psalms 46:10 "Be still and know
that I am God." It is interesting that King Wên and the Duke of Chou
wrote The I Ching around 1000 B.C., the same time that King David
composed the Book of Psalms. Inspired by this Chinese-Jewish connection
from antiquity (Hexagram #26 Ta Ch'u), I wrote these haikus for Wendy:

In
numerology, Wendy = Abraham = China = 26
Her first and last name
both add up to 26
the same as China.

52nd Hexagram of
"I Ching": Kên / Keeping Still
52nd word of
"Genesis I" (King James) = God
Psalms 46:10
"Be still and know that I am
God" Practice this well.

May the numbers 26 and 52 of Wendy Abraham's name bring her many blessings,
as she has blessed the Stanford community with her dedicated service in the
Asian Religions and Cultures Initiatives. May her arc in life be bright always.
