Hike: Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve & Shoreline Park, Mountain View, CA First Hike of Foothill College Trail Hike Class Instructor: Thomas McCarthy (PHED23A) Friday, April 17, 2015, 1:00 pm-4:20 pm By Peter Y. Chou WisdomPortal.com |
Preface: Registered for Thomas McCarthy's
Trail Hike Class (PHED 23A) at Foothill College
that meets on Fridays (1:00-4:00 pm). Our first hike is at Palo Alto Baylands/ Shoreline Park. A friend gave classmate and me a ride to the hike. Came here on October 4, 2013. Tom asked me to take a photo of the class before our hike. Because of drought, the waters were not so deep in the lake and bay. Perhaps that's the reason of no sightings of pelicans or great blue herons today. After reaching the Libby Dutton Bench with inscription "Her spirit now flies with the pelicans she loved", we turned back home (3:13 pm). Below are 70 photos from our Baylands hike. |
